I'll be honest, I was skeptical about whether these would actually work or just be another gimmick. But I'm impressed. My 5 year old uses it willingly which is the main thing. The quality is decent, pages are thick enough that they won't wear out quickly. The pen ink does disappear but takes 10 minutes or so. Overall very happy.
Our daughter's year 2 teacher actually recommended these at parents evening. We bought them and can see why they're simple but effective. The grooves provide just enough guidance without doing the work for her. She's been practicing for 10 days now and her confidence has grown loads. Great product.
The books themselves are excellent quality and my son (6) enjoys using them. The grooves work really well. My only complaint is the magic pen sometimes the ink doesn't fully disappear or takes ages to fade. We've had to use a damp cloth a couple times. Apart from that, it's a solid product and doing what we need it to do.
I was worried these wouldn't work for my left-handed son but they're perfect. The grooves work just as well from the left side. He's 7 and has always struggled with handwriting. These books have given him the structure he needed. Already seeing neater writing at school. Teacher even commented on it!
I have two kids my 6 year old daughter loves these and uses them every day. But my 8 year old son says the grooves are "too babyish" and won't use them. I think these work great for younger kids (ages 3-6) who are just learning, but older kids might find them patronising. Quality is fine, packaging was good. Just depends on your child's age and personality I guess. Would give 3.5 if I could.
The product itself is good and my son is using it happily. The grooves work as described. Only reason for 4 stars is the package arrived with a small dent in the corner - nothing major but a bit annoying for the price. The books still work fine though. Customer service did respond quickly when I mentioned it. Decent product overall.
My 3 year old isn't in school yet but I wanted to start her with basic letter recognition. These are perfect - not too advanced but structured enough to teach proper technique. The grooves guide her little hands and she thinks it's a game. Brilliant for early years. Packaging was good, arrived intact.
Bought these when schools closed and they've been brilliant. My twins (both 6) use them every morning. The fact they're reusable means I'm not constantly buying new workbooks. Quality is good, pages are durable. They've survived 2 weeks of daily use with no issues. Would buy again.
We're 2 weeks in and I can definitely see improvement in my daughter's letter formation. She's 4 and just starting reception. The grooves help her understand the correct way to form letters. She loves that she can practice over and over without wasting paper. Environmentally friendly too which is a bonus!
Really like the idea and my twins (both 5) are enjoying using them. The grooves definitely help with letter formation. Only downside is the pages are a bit slippery/plasticky which makes gripping the pen harder for younger kids. We've managed though and they're still using them daily. Would still recommend overall.
My 7 year old has ADHD and normally can't sit still for writing practice. These books somehow keep him engaged for 15-20 minutes at a time. I think it's the combination of the grooves and being able to erase mistakes. Really pleased with this purchase. Good value for money.
Homework used to be a battle in our house. My 5 year old would cry when it was time to practice writing. Got these books and the change is incredible - she sees it as fun now, not a chore. The disappearing ink is like magic to her. Best £35 I've spent in ages. Arrived quickly to London.
My son has dysgraphia and fine motor difficulties. His teacher suggested something with tactile feedback and these are brilliant. The grooves give him the structure he needs without being too restrictive. He's actually enjoying writing practice now which is a miracle. Highly recommend for kids with additional needs.
My daughter is 6 and has been struggling with letter formation. Her OT recommended guided practice and these books are perfect for that. She's used it every day this week and I can already see her confidence growing. The 3D grooves make a real difference. Will probably buy the numbers one next.
We've tried several handwriting workbooks before and they always ended up in the bin after a few uses. This is different because it's reusable - no waste and my kids (4 and 7) can practice as much as they want. The magic pen is a hit with them. Good quality, sturdy pages.
